Ski camp Storklinten
It has come to our attention that it is literary impossible to find a genuinely true weekend ski trip, on the UK-market. I.e. starting from home Friday morning to be back on Sunday evening (maybe a bit late, but still). – From now on you can!
So how is that possible ? Well, You don’t go to the alps – You go to Swedish Lapland ! Our slopes are just as good as the famous ski-resorts in Finland. You can travel with SAS and/or British Airways. You get the tickets and we take care of the rest – an All Inclusive Ground Package – Transfer, accommodation, skis, ski-poles, ski pass and all meals! Cost of flights, provided that trip is planned in really good time can be as low as around GBP 250 – 350 for London - Luleå-Kallax Airport in Swedish Lapland.

In the light of the events during the recent year, that has struck the flying industry (volcanic ash and snow & ice at the wrong place) we strongly recommend that you have some insurance protection for your air tickets, either by buying your own policy, or by booking through our UK tour-operator, Arctic Discovery. Making your acquisition through them will also save you from the trouble or finding the right flights. ALL INCLUSIVE GROUND PACKAGE
Guests have no need to carry their own skis as we provide skis and ski-poles. Guest preferably carries their ski boots and clothing. If guests have neither, please advice and we will help out. Ski pass is also included in the price, a well as two breakfast’s, two buffet lunches, two dinners. Not included are beverages or extra meals and other personal purchases. HOW TO GET HERE (and back again)
Simple – get to Heathrow and catch the morning flight with British Airways (depart 07,20) or SAS (depart. 07,00 and 10,35). Both of them have connections that lets you catch the 15.10 SAS flight to the Luleå-Kallax Airport, where we meet up at your arrival at 16.30. For your return, we will take you back to the airport to catch the 16.45 flight to Stockholm Arlanda arriving 18.05, meaning that we leave the slopes at 15.00. The British Airway connection takes off from Stockholm Arlanda at 20,55. arriving at Heathrow 22.20 and SAS at 19.50 arriving 21.35.
PRICE
Our price for the complete ground package including accommodation, all transfers, breakfasts, lunches and dinner, ski-pass, skis and ski-poles:
SEK 3 065,00 per person (min 2 pers).
- Children under the age of 13 have 30 % discount.
- Members of the Ski Club of Great Britain have 5 % discount (no double discounts).
Beverages and extra meals are not included in price. Guests are expected to have their own ski/warm clothing and ski-boots. In case you miss something, we will help out at a supplementary fee. In case of extreme cold we equip you to be able to ski at no extra charges.
WHEN TO GO
Our high season starts in the beginning of March when most resorts (in the Alps) starts to wind down. It is the time when the sun returns and the weather conditions are very much like what you meet in the Alps high season, meaning sunny days with blue skies, high air and warm sun, but cold nights. – Perfect for skiing! At the end of April it’s light almost 24 h and the sun has made its work and we have to close down.
PRE-SEASON
Should you prefer to experience real heavy winter, with extreme cold, short day-light hours and northern lights, take the chance and visit us during pre-season which is late December to late February. We provide you with extra clothing so you will stay warm! And don’t worry about skiing in the cold, a face mask and electric socks make the trick ! The slopes are illuminated and there is no waiting for the lift in a queue!

ITINERARY
Friday
You make sure to be at Arlanda Airport, Stockholm, Sweden to make the departure at 15.10, for Luleå-Kallax Airport, arriving 16.30. Leaving Britain in the early morning will give you good time for having lunch and maybe do some shopping. For the budget traveler there is a McDonalds and others at Arlanda.
We meet up at Luleå Airport (Kallax) and take you by car to the skiing grounds, one hour away (in the Community of Boden -36 km north of the town). We will arrive at the Storklinten Ski Complex around 17.30 and guests will be shown to their apartments (in cabins), where they can change into ski-clothing. At 18.00 we meet for a coffee and a snack and to pick up our skis. The lifts will be running until 22.00 hours and dinner can be had throughout the evening and the restaurant will close at midnight.
Saturday
Lifts will be running from 10.00 when natural day-light appears and will be running until 16.00 h. Throughout the day the restaurant will be open and you will find a buffet lunch for you. as well as coffee, tea and other beverages. Under pre-season day-light will start to disappear around 3 – 4 o’clock pm, but the slopes are illuminated, so you can go on skiing until closing time, at 4.00 pm. Dinner will be served in the restaurant from 6-7 pm and most Saturdays there will be a troubadour with singalong and everyone in a good mood.
Sunday
The slopes will be open and lifts running the same times as the day before, but our guest will have to break-up a little bit earlier as the transfer back to Kallax will take off at 15.00 h. Check in at Kallax is at latest 30 minutes before take-off. We will be there in good time, around 16.00 h and take-off for Arlanda will be at 16.45. Arrival at 18.05, in good time for the return flight to London There will be time to have dinner before leaving.
