Winter (21 Nov – 31 Mar)

Leave the roads behind and step into the quiet winter forests of Arctic Sweden.

This private snowshoe experience takes you through deep snow, old forests and open winter landscapes where the only sounds may be the snow beneath your feet, the wind in the trees and the occasional call of a forest bird.

Together with your private guide, you will travel at an unhurried pace through terrain selected according to the weather, snow conditions and the interests of the group.

Rather than following a fixed trail, the experience is adapted to the conditions of the day. We may walk through snow-covered pine forest, cross frozen wetlands or climb gently towards a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding landscape.

Along the way, your guide introduces you to the northern forest and how people, wildlife and the winter climate are connected.

We look for tracks and signs from animals such as moose, reindeer, red fox, mountain hare and forest birds, while learning how they survive the long Arctic winter.

A Fire in the Forest

Partway through the experience, we find a sheltered place in the forest and make an open fire.

Here we slow down.

Coffee or tea is prepared over the fire and served together with homemade pastries and selected local delicacies.

There is time to sit by the flames, enjoy the silence and experience something increasingly rare: a winter landscape without crowds, traffic or unnecessary distractions.

The fire is not simply a refreshment stop. It is an important part of the experience and reflects the traditional way of travelling and spending time outdoors in northern Scandinavia.

A Arctic Experience

The tour is designed for guests who value privacy, authenticity and personal guiding rather than speed or physical performance.

The route, pace and content can be adapted to the guests. For some, the focus may be wildlife and nature interpretation. For others, photography, winter ecology or simply spending time in a beautiful and remote environment.

No previous snowshoeing experience is required.

The Character of the Experience

Private. Quiet. Personal.

This is not a race through the forest and it is not a mass-market snowshoe excursion.

It is an opportunity to enter the winter landscape slowly, understand what surrounds you and spend a few hours experiencing the forests of Arctic Sweden with a local guide who knows the landscape.

Sometimes the most exclusive experience is simply having the forest to yourself.
